Frank Peretti Frank Peretti - With more than nine million novels in print, it’s no secret that Frank Peretti is a publishing phenomenon and has been called “America’s hottest Christian novelist.” Frank is a natural storyteller who, as a youngster in Seattle, regularly gathered the neighborhood children for animated storytelling sessions. After graduating high school, Frank began playing banjo with a local bluegrass group. He and his wife were married in 1972, and Frank soon moved from touring with a pop band to launching a modest Christian music ministry.

Frank studied English and film at UCLA, and then assisted his father in pastoring a small church. In 1983, he gave up pastoring and while working at a ski factory, began writing This Present Darkness, the book that was to catapult him into the public eye.

After numerous rejections from publishers and a slow start in sales, word-of-mouth enthusiasm finally lifted This Present Darkness onto a tidal wave of interest in spiritual warfare. Piercing the Darkness (1989) and This Present Darkness (1988) together have sold more than 3.5 million. The Oath (1995) sold more than half a million copies within the first six months of release and was awarded the 1996 Gold Medallion Award for best fiction. The Visitation (1999) has been on the CBA Fiction Bestseller list since its debut.

Frank wrote The Cooper Kids Adventure Series (Crossway and Tommy Nelson) which stemmed from his storytelling experiences at youth camp. The Cooper Kids series remains a best selling series for children with sales exceeding 2 million copies. In August 2000, Tommy Nelson launched a new series starring Peretti called Wild & Wacky. This series began with audio, which have sold over 500,000 units, and now includes videos, and a Bible storybook that released in August 2002.

For tweens and teens, Frank released the first book in a thrilling youth fiction series titled The Veritas Project: Hangman’s Curse (Tommy Nelson) in February 2001, and it became an instant best seller. The second book in the series, Nightmare Academy, was released in August 2002.

Frank and his wife, Barbara Jean, live in the Western U.S. In spite of his fame and notoriety, Frank still lives a simple, well-rounded life that includes carpentry, banjo playing, sculpturing, bicycling and hiking. He is also an avid pilot. Schedule a Speaker
