Selling our Future

It sounds like something from a movie — teens targeted and lured from malls and streets into prostitution. Sadly, it's a reality for an increasing number of young women not just in foreign countries but in the United States as well. Those who end up trapped in modern-day sexual slavery call it "the life." Mistreated, alone and living in a foster home, one young girl told ABC News her story. Sara, who asked that her named be changed to protect her identity, said she was seduced into "the life" by a man who claimed to love her when she was only 13-years-old. Looking around at all this suffering, we may think that the battles are being lost in hospitals and divorce courts—but, in reality, we are losing the earlier, more important conflicts on the battlefield of our minds. Our minds are beingAreas of Interest bombarded daily with a constant stream of little nagging thoughts, suspicions, doubts, fears, wonderings, and theories. While any one of these can cause defeat and devastation, many of us are plagued by more than one. Our lives have become filled with daily mental battles against a variety of aggressors.
