Generally, American girls are spared the worst problems facing girls in third world nations. In the United States, education is free; clean water, sanitation and health care are available (though not always easily accessed); and opportunities abound for those girls that are talented and determined. In the U.S., too, there are plenty of resources in churches and communities to help girls navigate successfully through adolescence to adulthood. But when it comes to “harmful attitudes and practices,” our culture can certainly hold its own –– especially regarding the nation’s sexualized pop culture. The dangers to girls from the

Spring Break Advisory
Our job as parents really needs to kick-in high gear -- as over 100,000 American teenagers and young adults travel to resort areas throughout Mexico over Spring Break each year. While the vast majority enjoys their vacation without incident, several may die, hundreds will be arrested, and still more will make mistakes that could affect them for the rest of their lives. The biggest help they are getting, apart from credulous acceptance of their sudden spiritual enthusiasm, is the media’s demonizing of conservative Christians. Face the Truth
Today, people everywhere are struggling through life with damaged emotions. They've endured a lot of negative things in their life, which cause untold damage that needs to be dealt with. But all too often, these hurts are simply swept under the rug in an attempt to make them go away.
Through my own life's experience and from my many years of helping others through this process, I've discovered that although God wants to help those who really want emotional healing, there are some very important steps that the individuals must take for themselves. If you want to receive emotional healing, one of the first steps you must take is to face the truth. You can't be set free while you live in denial. You can't pretend that certain negative things didn't happen to you.
