 Latrines to Limousines

From Houston -- business futures left the boardrooms long ago and have also expanded from the male latrines to the limousines. Forget the fact that far too many oil deals used limousines to complete business after they have wined and dined the men involved in building the oil empires through the adventurous luncheons at the topless bars. Why would it surprise anyone that Shell Oil is now determined that "Playboy" and "Penthouse" no longer are pornography, but instead are "adult sophisticates," according to a company statement, as they sell pornography in their gasoline stores. The truth is simple, whenever the local Community Standard for obscenity is defined and violated, each community has the right to pursue those in violation by

suing  any company whose wealth promote's otherwise or anti-family values -- now in broad daylight. If Shell Oil or any other company wants to sell pornography in their family gasoline stores, they need to display a sign over the door which says,   "Adult Book Store," which warns family males, females and children about persons of questionable character found and attracted to that location. The Supreme Court doesn't talk about "adult sophisticates" but instead each Community Standard for obscenity. 'Penthouse' no longer porn, Shell announces: Policy change allows sale of 'adult sophisticates' by retailers

Fathers As I sit here looking at my seven month old son I think that perhaps the last twenty-seven years of my life have led up to this point. Though I would argue that I am undeserving of such a wonderful gift as this boy, I am truly grateful, and it is this gratitude that leads me to think that perhaps my son will one day look at my grandson in the same manner. I sit down to my computer with a smile on my face and start reading my email when a headline snaps me back to reality. I read the headline again, Ms. v. Ms., A new legal chapter opens for gay couples with children.  I look back to my son and start to grow a bit angry at the fact that this is just another aspect of the culture war that I did not start.    ‘Who Started the Fire?’ Is a Moot Point When the Roof Is Caving in

Family Concerns

Joyce Meyer Emotions We all have emotions, and they’re here to stay. I believe one of the main goals of every believer should be emotional stability. We should seek God to learn how to manage our emotions and not allow them to manage us. An excerpt from the definition I found in the dictionary states that emotions are "to excite and to move out." Think about this: You're out shopping for a specific item you're in need of. You've made a commitment to the Lord to get out of debt. You've promised Him to tithe and give offerings as He directs. You've agreed to really watch your spending and not purchase things you don't need. But while shopping, you discover that the stores are having a big sale of 50 percent off the already marked down merchandise. What do you do? You get excited. The more you look around, the more excited you get. Emotions are rising higher and higher. They begin to move out, and part of the devil's plan is for you to follow your emotions.
