For years, policymakers have known that a significant proportion of fathers have little contact with their children once their relationship with their children’s mother ends. Although fathers today are less likely to disengage from their children than divorced fathers in previous decades, 20% to 30% of children have little or no contact with their fathers. The Current Affair Take the current affair that the porn industry is having with the Democratic nominees for 2008. This past week it's had all the passion of a one night stand. Porn stars, porn editors, and really, really, really dirty old men are just exploding with campaign cash and endorsements for what they consider to be the new DNA of the Democratic field. Perhaps out of tribute to the fallen Jerry Falwell, this past week, the Obama and Hillary campaigns competed for the top porn dollars. If you thought the radio airwaves would suddenly turn nicer in the wake of the Don Imus firing, think again -- not everyone is conservative like Rush Limbaugh. The shameless shock jocks Opie and Anthony have succeeded in ramming through whatever wall of post-Imus politeness was constructed with a grotesque routine on XM Satellite Radio that played on -- for laughs -- the idea of raping the secretary of state. On a satellite-only segment promoted on the Opie and Anthony Website as "uncut, uncensored and totally filthy," this duo laughed as a character named "Homeless Charlie" described how he would like to "(F-word) that (B-word)."
