For the second year in a row, America's elite universities and colleges have failed to rise above a "D plus" on tests of basic knowledge about civics and American history, maintains a study commissioned by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute's (ISI). In 2005, ISI contracted with the University of Connecticut's Department of Public Policy (UConnDPP) to administer tests of basic historical and civic knowledge to 14,000 students at 50 top schools, including Yale, Harvard, Cornell, the University of Virginia, Brown and Duke. The survey found that students "were no better off than when they arrived in terms of acquiring the knowledge necessary for informed engagement in a democratic republic and global economy." Since an education at top colleges can cost as much as $40,000 a year, it would appear

SEX WITH FIVE YEAR OLD J.D. Roy Atchison, the federal prosecutor accused of traveling from Gulf Breeze to Michigan with the intent of having sex with a 5-year-old girl, will remain jailed in Detroit. Clad in a long-sleeve white T-shirt, thin-rimmed glasses and wearing ankle chains, Atchison waived his detention hearing today and stood mute as he heard three charges that could put him in prison for life. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. Atchison, 53, was arrested Sunday after getting off an airplane in Detroit. Since Aug. 29, he?d been having almost daily online chats with an undercover officer posing as a mother interested in offering her fictitious 5-year-old daughter for sex, law officers said. Atchison arrived at the airport Sunday with a Dora the Explorer doll, hoop earrings and petroleum jelly. U.S. Attorney Busted Going to Have Sex with 5 Year Old |

CELL PORN The tech-savvy among us can already watch news clips, music videos and sports highlights on our cell phones. Now, the adult entertainment industry is trying to make sure that you'll be able to watch porn on your hand-held devices as well. EMOTIONS We all have emotions, and they’re here to stay. I believe one of the main goals of every believer should be emotional stability. We should seek God to learn how to manage our emotions and not allow them to manage us. An excerpt from the definition I found in the dictionary states that emotions are "to excite and to move out." Think about this: You're out shopping for a specific item you're in need of. You've made a commitment to the Lord to get out of debt. You've promised Him to tithe and give offerings as He directs. You've agreed to really watch your spending and not purchase things you don't need. But while shopping, you discover that the stores are having a big sale of 50 percent off the already marked down merchandise. What do you do? You get excited. The more you look around, the more excited you get. Emotions are rising higher and higher. They begin to move out, and part of the devil's plan is for you to follow your emotions.
