      Fastest Growing Industry

Noteworthy is the enormous good derived from the Internet -- the fastest growing industry which also denotes cultural decline developing into huge numbers of sex crimes against children and females. While educating, motivating, and equipping the family and community in morality and decency, Centers For Decency addresses the continuous information and instructs all to take action.

  • Two in five Internet users visited an adult site in August of 2005, according to tracking by comScore Media Metrix.
  • 87% of university students polled have virtual sex mainly using Instant Messenger, webcam, and telephone ("CampusKiss and Tell" University and College Sex Survey. Released on February 14, 2006. CampusKiss.com. February 17, 2006 http://www.campuskiss.com
  • According to comScore Media Metrix, there were 63.4 million unique visitors to adult websites in December of 2005, reaching 37.2% of the Internet audience.
  • By the end of 2004, there were 420 million pages of pornography, and it is believed that the majority of these websites are owned by less than 50 companies (LaRue, Jan. "Obscenity and the First Amendment." Summit on Pornography. Rayburn House Office Building. Room 2322. May 19, 2005).

  • The pornography industry generates $12 billion dollars in annual revenue - larger than the combined annual revenues of ABC, NBC, and CBS. Of that, the Internet pornography industry generates $2.5 billion dollars in annual revenue. (Pornography Statistics. Family Safe Media. January 10, 2006. >http://www.familysafemedia.com/pornography_statistics.html)

LIGHT OF TRUTH Nothing frightens those who peddle lies than the cold hard light of truth. They react to exposure of their deceits the way vampires react to a having a crucifix held up in front of them. Ever since the birth of conservative talk radio and the Internet ended the liberals’ total monopoly over the news, the left has been simmering with impotence -- over the loss of their absolute control over what the Americans are allowed to see and hear, and their inability to do anything about it. Time and again liberal attempts to sell the nation their shoddy goods have been frustrated when talk-radio hosts have taken to the airwaves and warned their millions of listeners that they were about to be taken to the cleaners. It was not until the administration’s fatally flawed immigration reform bill that seemed destined for passage was derailed by army of angry voters recruited by talk radio hosts and conservative Internet Web sites that the left understood both the incredible power of the new media and their utter helplessness in the face of it. INTELLIGENCE One of the longest-running controversies in history has been that between those who believe intelligence to be inherited and those who see it as determined by environment. If time has not resolved that question, it has at least led to sharper definitions of the question and a muting of some of the dogmatism among those on both sides of this issue. The eugenics movement of the early 20th century was based on the fear that, since people of lower mental ability tended to have more children than people of higher mental ability, the average level of the nation's intelligence would tend to decline over time. It is hard to escape the logic of that argument. But that logic could be its undoing. The research of Professor James R. Flynn, an American expatriate living in New Zealand, has revealed that the number of questions answered correctly on IQ tests has risen very substantially in more than a dozen nations, in just one generation. What Is Intelligence?

FAMILY CONCERNS

THE MIND I have done a lot of teaching in the past twenty-five years, and I am convinced that one of the greatest areas in which we need help is the area of our thinking. No matter how many messages you and I hear about the mind, we can always benefit from hearing another one. I believe that where the mind goes, the man follows. Jesus said in Luke 6:45, …out of the abundance (overflow) of the heart his mouth speaks. And in Proverbs 23:7 the Bible says, …as he [a man] thinks in his heart, so is he…. In both of these scriptures, the word heart refers to the mind. In other words, our thoughts are the forerunners of both our words and actions. Whatever you and I allow into our inner life will eventually be seen in our outer life. So in order to deal with wrong behavior, we need to deal with wrong thinking. My deep desire is to help us get our thinking lined up with His Word. As a result, the words of our mouths and the actions of our lives will get straightened out in the process. I believe the key to victory is learning how to think on the things that God wants us to think—to be renewe Where the Mind Goes, the Man Follows
