The Family Research Council (FRC) champions marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society. FRC shapes public debate and formulates public policy that values human life and upholds the institutions of marriage and the family. Believing that God is the author of life, liberty, and the family, FRC promotes the Judeo-Christian worldview as the basis for a just, free, and stable society.
The Early Years
The idea of the Family Research Council originated at the 1980 White House Conference on Families. Among the conferees, James Dobson stood out because of his rare combination of Christian social values and academic and professional credentials. A practicing clinical psychologist and noted author, Dobson had recently transitioned into radio broadcasting and also launched a nonprofit, family service organization. He felt that the time was ripe to establish an organization that would drive the national debate on family issues. In 1983, the Family Research Council incorporated as a nonprofit educational institution in the District of Columbia; its founding board included Dobson and two noted psychiatrists, Armand Nicholoi Jr. of Harvard University and George Rekers of the University of South Carolina.
Under the leadership of Jerry Regier, a former Reagan Administration official at the Department of Health and Human Services, FRC began to link policy makers with researchers and professionals from a variety of disciplines. Gary Bauer, a domestic policy advisor to President Reagan, succeeded Regier in 1988 and by the mid-1990s the organization had grown into a $10 million operation with a nationwide network of support.

Plan B
Not a week has passed since President Bush signed an excellent bill to protect minors from sexual predators. Now the Administration is considering making it easier for statutory rapists to obtain Plan B, the "morning after pill," by granting over-the-counter (OTC) status for women 18 years and older. Sen. Hillary Clinton has been holding up the confirmation of Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach to head the FDA, because the FDA has not yet approved Barr Laboratory's application for "dual status" of Plan B. Apparently, the Administration thinks that approving Plan B for OTC sales will win approval of Dr. von Eschenbach's nomination.
News broke this morning that just 24 hours before a hearing on Dr. von Eschenbach's nomination, the FDA is considering approving Barr's application. The FDA previously rejected Barr's first application for OTC status for Plan B because it had not been proven safe for adolescent women. Barr resubmitted their application for OTC status for women ages 16 and older, which has been pending FDA review. The FDA should reject this application for several reasons. While the FDA has the legal authority to approve the marketing of a drug for prescription or nonprescription use, it does not have the authority to do both. This would be unprecedented.
Furthermore, the FDA does not have the enforcement authority to ensure that store clerks are checking age ID for dual status drugs. Granting OTC access for Plan B to women 18 and older (the FDA's counterproposal) could lead to higher incidence of STDs, and it could also make it easier for statutory rapists to hide their crimes. The Administration should reject Barr's request for Plan B.

Dumbfounded by Karen Kristopher July 2006
Is it possible to be dumbfounded by immorality and indecency today? When we think we have heard and seen just about everything, another dumbfounding moment grabs our privacy. In fact, to study what was just said or done can take processing time to evaluate the new low defining the explosure from pornography. What level of filth or abomination will it take to make you an activitist for morality and decency? Nevertheless, the information that may follow may be difficult to believe.
In 2002 -- There is a myth in South Africa that having sex with a virgin will cure AIDS. The younger the virgin, the more potent the cure. This has led to an epidemic of rapes by infected males, with the correspondent infection of innocent kids. Many have died in these cruel rapes. Recently in Cape Town, a nine month old baby was raped by 6 men. The child abuse situation is now reaching catastrophic proportions and if we don't do something, then who will?
Houston Chronicle Andrew Tilghman writes -- February 2005
“A 13-month-girls, biting on a pink plastic pacifier, sat in her uncle’s lap in a Houston courtroom Thursday and watched as a jury recommended a 50-year sentence for the man who raped her when she was 6 weeks old.”
Erotica LA -- July 2006 - A company here is selling porn baby jumpers(outfits) for those parents who want to dress their little babies in the latest porn accesserories. The suprising thing was parents buying these little outfits for their kids. Dumbfounded.
