In the days before automatic garbage disposals in kitchen sinks, good housewives would wrap up the household garbage and throw it away. Harkening back to those “good ‘ole days,” several organizations joined together in 1987 with Norma Norris, a woman who was determined to get rid of pornography by raising awareness of the numerous ways that pornography hurts people and harms communities. Thus, the annual White Ribbons Against Pornography (WRAP) campaign was launched — with dozens of organizations, including Concerned Women for America — urging supporters to wear and/or display a white ribbon indicating their opposition to pornography during WRAP week, October 26 — November 2. Since 1987, the problem of porn has become infinitely greater — from less than 80,000 Internet porn sites in 1998 to nearly 1.5 million in 2003 — because the Internet has brought that evil right into our homes and bombarded even our children with obscene language and images. There are nearly 35 million visits to porn sites every month — some experts estimate that constitutes 1-in-4 Internet users.
Since 1987, in spite of the feminist movement that was supposed to keep women from being mere sex objects, women have increasingly been depicted in degrading and debased ways. Now, with the demand for younger and younger images, the harm has spread to children. Read On |

Accused of Raping The trial of an amateur adult film actor accused of raping a woman at a Washington State University sorority began Tuesday. Christopher Jack Reid, who made porn films under the name Jack Venice, is charged with rape and burglary in the attack in September of last year on a woman sleeping at the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority house. "He told many many people that he was a porn star in town visiting," prosecutor Denis Tracy said, adding Reid allegedly told patrons of a local bar that the night of the attack he was "looking for women to have sex with me." The alleged victim in the case identified Reid in court Tuesday. "When I looked over and saw his face, that face is something that I can't forget." But Reid's attorney, Chris Bugbee, said that his client has been made a "scapegoat" in the case. "He's a darn good scapegoat," Bugbee said. The defense alleges that another man committed the rape. That man, Kyle Schott, is expected to testify against Reid. The trial is expected to last through Friday. If convicted, Reid could spend the rest of his life in prison. Reported by AP |

SEX ADDICT
Reports have been running rampant all week that David Duchovny cheated on wife Tea Leoni with a tennis instructor, but according to the actor it is all "salacious and sensational gossip" that has caused him "substantial harm." Duchovny filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday for defamation and invasion of privacy against the originators of the story, British publication The Daily Mail, seeking no less than $1 million in damages. On October 18 the well-known tabloid ran a story on its Web site which claimed that the "Californication" star was having a "full-blown sexual affair" with his tennis teacher Edit Pakey and that he had planned to leave his wife of 11 years to be with her. However Pakey claims in the suit that they are "just friends" and says she was never even hired to be his tennis coach. According to the documents, The Daily Mail was informed of their article's falsity before it was published but they chose to move forward with the story anyway. Duchovny's peeps are now demanding the case go to trial. A representative from The Daily Mail could not be immediately reached for comment. The 48-year-old actor was recently released from rehab after voluntarily receiving treatment for sex addiction and just last week it was revealed that he and Leoni had been separated for several months. The media are acting as if they completely and fully vetted Obama during the Democratic primaries and
that's why they are entitled to send teams of researchers into Alaska to analyze Sarah Palin's every expense report. In fact, the mainstream media did no vetting. They seem to have all agreed, "OK, none of us will get into this business with Jeremiah Wright, 'Tony' Rezko, Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers and everyone's impression of an angry Michelle Obama on 'The Jerry Springer Show.'" During one of the Democratic primary debates, Hillary Clinton was hissed for mentioning Syrian national Rezko, and during another, ABC moderator George Stephanopoulos nearly lost his career for asking Obama one question about William Ayers. In the past week, TV anchors have taken to claiming that Obama "refuted" John McCain's statement that Obama launched his political career at the home of former Weather Underground leader Ayers. No, Obama "denied" it; he didn't "refute" it. If "denying" something is the same as "refuting" it, then maybe the establishment media can quit harping on Palin's qualifications to be president, since she too "refuted" that by denying it. Back before the media realized it needed to lie about Obama launching his political career at Ayers' house, the Los Angeles Times provided an eyewitness account from a liberal who attended the event.
