             A Sad Moment

The United States Attorney's Office announced Thursday it will not file criminal charges against former New York governor Eliot Spitzer.

Karen Kristopher with the Houston Area Association for Decency says she is saddened as the federal prosecutors do not file charges against Spitzer who sends a message to all policing authorities across the nation that men sollicting sexual services shouldn't be arrested, only the prostitutes. And further in response, Kristopher states that all female new's anchors should keep this subject alive and pursue it.

The Democrat stepped down in March after admitting he was paying $4,000 an hour for the services of prostitute Ashley Dupre. Spitzer said he was a client of the Emperors Club VIP, which employed Dupree.

An investigation showed, on multiple occasions, Spitzer arranged for Dupree and other prostitutes to travel between state lines to meet up with him.  The FBI and IRS charged more than $1 million in criminal funds from the Emperor's Club VIP were laundered through a bank account. The United States Attorney opened its investigation into Spitzer after discovering the former governor had made questionable payments to this account.  However, a spokesperson for the Attorney General's office says there is insufficient evidence to bring charges against Spitzer for any offense relating to payments to the Emperors Club VIP account. He also says Spitzer did not use campaign funds.

"In light of the policy of the Department of Justice with respect to prostitution offenses and the longstanding practice of this Office, as well as Mr. Spitzer's acceptance of responsibility for his conduct, we have concluded that the public interest would not be further advanced by filing criminal charges in this matter," an Attorney General spokesman said. What a dishonor to every women in America, responds Kristopher.
